Bio
Effie Lee Jones passed away on March 28, 2023 at the age of 101. Mother was loved by so many family and friends. Mother worked at Blackstone Hotel in Tyler ( now the chamber of commerce building). Mother was born in Lindale TX to George and Lula Glasscock. Effie was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband: Emery Jones, son: Charles Jones, daughter: Carol Jones Kindig, sisters: Elva Mae Graham, Bessie Carter and Mary Ruth Johnson Webb and granddaughter: Dana Howard. She is survived by her son: Kenneth Jones, daughter: Rosemary Gregg 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, sons in law; Stan Kindig and Tony Gregg. Effie was member of Friendly Baptist Church and the oldest member. The family would like to thank all the employees of Waterton Nursing Home and special thank you to Claudia Butler and her family, Mrs. Butler was a great roommate and we consider her family. And thank you to Hospice of East Texas for the outstanding job they did. Thank you Laci Jo and all of team. Funeral services will be 10:00am Saturday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Alvey & Bro. Steve Lyles officiating with visitation 5-7pm Friday. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park, Tyler, TX
