Published in the Athens Review April 13, 1950 Funeral rites for Mrs. Dora Tinnin, lifelong resident of Henderson County, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Cross Roads. Rev. B. Bates and Rev. Dan Bynum officiated. Interment was in Old Union Cemetery. Mrs. Tinnin, 78, passed away Monday evening in a Henrietta hospital following a short illness. She had gone to the home of her daughter, Mrs. C.C. Wall, in Henrietta recently for a visit. The deceased was the widow of the late Arch Tinnin. She was a member of the Methodist Church, having joined at Beck's Chapel, when she was a young girl. Besides Mrs. Wall, survivors include two sons, John L. Tinnin of Cayuga and Marvin L. Tinnin of Premont; one daughter, Mrs. R.N. Johnson of Malakoff; and two brothers, Leach Thompson of Hollis, Oklahoma and J.B. Thompson of Montalba. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
