Ex-Chronicle Carries Dies Funeral services for Jodie Lee Franklin, 80, of Romayor will be Monday at the 1st Assembly of God Church in Cleveland. Franklin, a Chronicle carrier for 40 years, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Houston. Born in Maryville, La, Franklin served in World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Services are scheduled at 2:30 pm with Rev. Bill Harpe, Elbert Kinard and Harold Davis officiating. Burial will be in Oak Shade Cemetery. Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland has charge. Survivors includes his wife, Linnie Lee Franklin; three sons, Doyle Evans, Bobby Jo and Lindon Franklin; four daughters, Josephine Bell, Frances Gobert, Linda Jean Stroue and Betty Bell; Two brothers, Earnest and Rube Franklin; a sister Dona Nowlin; 21 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
