David Clyde Womack A military graveside service for David Clyde Womack, 85, of Shreveport, La. and formerly of Roscoe, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Roscoe Cemetery with Rev. David Buckley and Joy Buckley officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. Womack died Thursday, May 14, 2009, in Shreveport, La. He was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Sulphur Springs. He married Billie Joe Duncan Sept. 6, 1947, in Sweetwater. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Womack was a machinist and had retired from the Port of Houston. He had also lived in Rye, Texas and was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was a Mason and was a loving dad and grandfather. Survivors include three sons, Louis Womack of Colleyville, Robin Womack of Houston and William Womack of Rye; two daughters, Sharon Wooley of Orange and Sheila Witsman of Shreveport, La; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie on Jan. 7, 2003; one sister; and two brothers. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. From THE SWEETWATER (TX) REPORTER (5/15/2009)
