"J C" Parker was the son of Hezekiah Lamb Parker and Hortense Arnold. He married Bennie Childress. Sept 9 (AP) Four persons were killed and two were injured, one critically, when a roadster crashed into an eastbound passenger train if the Gulf Coast Lines at the Deridder highway crossing, twenty-five miles north of Lake Charles, Monday. The Evangeline highway there runs parallel to the railroad. The dead: L. E. GRAYSON, 38, an oil field employee of the Texas Company at Houma. MRS. NELLIE GRAYSON, 40, his wife of Joaquin, Shelby County, Texas. LINDBERGH MARTIN, 11, son of Mrs. Grayson by a former marriage. J. C. PARKER, 32, of Joaquin. The injured are: Earl Grayson, 17, Mrs. Grayson's son, in a critical condition at Lake Charles, Also of Joaquin, and Dorothy Martin, 14, of Joaquin, daughter of Mrs. Grayson, slightly injured. Grayson, who had been working at Houma about a year, was moving his family from Joaquin to the oil field town and Parker was accompanying him in search of employment. Dorothy said she and Earl were riding in the rumble seat of the roadster, which struck the Pullman next to the last car of the train.
