The Burwell Tribune, Thursday, September 8, 1949, pg 7 MRS. JAMES BLEACH Obituary Florence Mena Jeffers was born at Horace, Nebraska, February 13, 1900 to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jeffers, and passed away at her home in Burwell, August 31, 1949, at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 18 days. When she was four years old she moved to a farm in Valley County about five miles south of Burwell with her parents. She attended grade school at the country school near her home. She was united in marriage to Jams L. Bleach on April 2, 1919 at Ord, Nebraska. To this union were born three children. After their marriage they made their home on a farm three miles east of Burwell. In December, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. James Bleach moved to Burwell where she lived until the day of her death. She became a member of the Christian Church in Burwell at the age of 15. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne, who died in infancy. Mrs. Bleach is survived by her husband, James of Burwell; Two children, Virgil R. of Portland, Oregon, and Earl C. at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jeffers(sic) of Burwell; three brothers, Sam and James of Burwell, and Ernest of Sagle, Idaho; one sister, Bernice of Sandpoint, Idaho; and many other relatives and friends. Never complaining, she bore her burdens well and always had a smile for everyone. She was loved by all who knew her. Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; thy rod and they staff, they comfort me. Service were conducted from the Christian Church by Albert Delbridge. Interment was in the Burwell Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Henry Bonsall, Orville Wilson, Mike Shonka, Melvin Graves, Elzie Donner, Lewis Pishna. Those that attended the funeral from a distance were Clark J. Bleach and son Ronald of Los Angeles, Cal.; Virgil Bleach of Portland, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Van Lund and family of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Evert Emery of LaFayette, Ill.; Mrs. Dave Gray of Toulon, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. E., L. Bleach of Grand Island, and other relatives from Sargent and Taylor. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank all our kind neighbors and friends, ladies of the Christian Church, pallbearers, singers, also the minister for his comforting words; for the beautiful flowers, cards, and other acts of kindness shown us at the time of the loss of our dear wife, mother and daughter.
