Bio

Jerry John Smajstrla, 51, died Saturday in the Seymour Hospital. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Rev. Brendan McQuire officated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Munday under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral home. He was born December 27, 1929, at West, Texas. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a painter and a farmer. Survivers include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Smajstrla of Seymour; two sisters, Georgie Kleypas of Houston and Betty Lou Garrett of Garland, Texas; and two brothers, Albert of Seymour and Alvin Michalik of Munday.
