Alfred Hraban Obituary Alfred J. "Zeus" Hraban, 73, of Weston died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at his home in Weston. He was born April 23, 1932, in Brainard to James and Emma (Stoupac) Hraban. He attended school in Brainard. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from Sept. 23, 1952, to Aug. 1, 1954. She married Virginia "June" Mumm on Oct. 3, 1959, in Papillion. They owned and operated a tavern in Yutan and later a tavern in Weston for several years. They moved to Branson, Mo., and operated the Park Gate Motel and Resort for many years. After his wife's death, he moved back to Weston in 1981. He retired a few years later. He was a member of Weston American Legion Post 308 and a former member of the Weston Fire & Rescue squads. Survivors include: two sisters, Delores Svoboda of Seward and Mildred Synovec of California; and a brother, Jim Hraban of Lincoln. He also was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. The memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo with the Rev. Thomas Brouilette officiating. There is no visitation. Military honors will be conducted after the service by Weston American Legion Post 308. Burial will take place later at Lincoln Memorial Park.
