Bio

MELBA DUFFIN Melba Duffin, 67, passed away June 25, 1990, following a valiant battle with cancer. Born June 27, 1922, Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Howard LeRoy and Priscilla Walker Duffin. Was a 30 year employee of General Motor's Truck & Coach Division. Retired in 1978. Was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, filling a Stake Mission and for more than 30 years working with teenage girls through the Mutual Improvement Association. She held a Master Degree in Laureate Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, serving in many responsible positions during the past 40 years. She served on the City Council of Women and helped with numerous civic projects. Melba loved life and people and has made a difference through her sweet, caring nature, generosity and willingness to serve. Survivors include a brother, Vaughn H. Duffin; and a sister, Lora; nephew Derek Kaufman; nieces Pamela J. Call and Lisa Johnson; two great nieces and two great nephews; and many cousins. Graveside services will be Thursday, June 28th, 11 a.m., at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street (750 East). Friends may call at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, on Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and on Thursday for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
