On December 3, 1890 he was married to Miss Irene Spencer. She passed away after only one year. In 1898, when the Spanish American war occurred, he enlisted his services with the United States Infantry, being assigned to Company I, 51st Regiment. He was stationed at San Francisco when the war ended, and from there he received his honorable discharge. On Jun 18 1902 he was united in marriage to Miss Maud L. Pryor of Leon.
