Obituary published August 9, 1949 in the Denison Review Funeral services for John R. Jaacks of Muskogee, Okla., formerly of Denison, were held from the Huebner funeral home Friday morning with the graveside services at the Morgan township cemetery. The Rev. Father D.L. Clark officiated. Pallbearers were Wm. Boyens, Walter Hass, John Hildebrand, Leonard Johannsen, Wm. Schneider and Walter Waike. Mr. Jaacks was employed as steel foreman on the multi-million dollar Fort Gibson dam. He was stricken with a heart attack while at work at about 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 1. He died after reaching Muskogee hospital. He was born March 30, 1910 at Denison. A number of years ago Mr. and Mrs. Jaacks moved to Muskogee, Okla. where he was employed as steel foreman. Mr. Jaacks was a member of the Catholic church and also of the Elks lodge at Brainerd, Minn. In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Eileen and Rosalie Jaacks of Denison by a former marriage, four sisters, Mrs. Herman Boyens and Mrs. Ed Boyens of Denison, Mrs. Robert Schwitzer of Ogden, Utah and Mrs. Ed Krayniski of Omaha, and two brothers, Meinhard and Herbert Jaacks of Denison. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. H.M. Leiran of Muskogee, Okla., Theodore Kohlhof of Igloo, S.D., and Mrs. John Pollock and daughter of Bloomfield, Neb.
