Surrounded by family, Dennis Carl Haddon passed from this world to the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 24, 2009 at the age of 70 years. He was born March 23, 1939 in Delwin to Nolan Martin and Clara Elizabeth (Millican) Haddon. He grew up in Cee Vee and later graduated from Paducah High School in 1957. He joined the United States Air Force in November of 1957 and proudly served his country for five years. Dennis and Sherry Sides were married on June 12, 1965 and their first home was in Plainview. Through the years they resided in Lubbock, Pampa, and Midland. He was a former member of the Rotary and Kiwanas. Dennis was employed by LISD for 15 years and retired with Sherry in December of 2008. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, and devoted his life to his family. He is survived by the great love of his life, Sherry; one daughter, Kelley Denise Harth and husband Richard of Idalou; one son, Jarrod Lynn Haddon and fiancée, Michelle Stevens of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Justin Kirt and Grayson Blake Harth of Idalou, and Austin Keith Stevens of Lubbock. He is also survived by two brothers, Gerald Lynn and wife Martha of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Arlen Dale and wife Patty of Seminole; sister-in-law, Norma of Ballinger; nephew, Cade and wife Mickie of Ballinger; niece, Courtney and husband Patrick of Miles; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan and Clara; one brother, Wayne Allen; and his mother-in-law, Betty Ruth Sides, for whom he had a great amount of love and respect. A formal visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 27, 2009 at White Funeral Home in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at West Texas Church at the Barn in Lubbock with Pastor Ted Currington officiating. Burial will be at Childress Cemetery with Dennis' brother-in-law, Edwin Sides, presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to the West Texas Church at the Barn at 8322 CR 6500, Lubbock, TX 79416 (Milwaukee and Erskine).
