WILLIAM TURNER MOORE was born on 17 July 1856, and was the son of Jerry Moore and Eliza A. Turner-Moore (1838 - 1856). Family tradition states that Eliza's Father, Francis Ross Turner was an overbearing Judge. Eliza died giving birth to William, and Frances had Jerry Moore chased out of the County and into Oklahoma. It is said that Frances did not approve of Jerry Moore & his daughter Eliza's relationship, because Jerry's mother was an Indian. I have not found documentation proving Jerry Moore's mother's heritage, yet. There have not been any descendants reporting DNA that would corroborate the story passed down in family tradition. William married Francis Susan Chenault (Shinnault) on 01 July 1875 in Hopkins County, Texas, and they had NINE children of record: Marion Eliflett "Liff" Moore (1876-1948), "Frank" Francis Elisha Moore (1879-1949), Charlie "Charles" Lee Moore (1881-1956), Mary Etta Moore-Floyd (1884-1961), Maudie Moore (1886-1888), Willie Moore (1889-1890), Vevia L. Moore-Nelson (1890-1923), Boyd Brice Moore (1894-1971), and Ruth L. Moore-(M1: Rhodes)-M2: Timberlake (1896-1974). William passed away on 21 October 1945 at Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and was buried at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Boxelder, Red River Co, Texas next to his wife, Susan Chenault-Moore.
