Find A Grave contributor William Miller submitted the following... Edward served in the navy during WWII as a Chief Pharmicist Mate assigned to the submarine USS Albacore (SS-218). His submarine left Pearl Harbor on 24 October 1944, stopped at Midway to fuel, and left there for her eleventh patrol against the Japanese. She was never heard from again. It was learned after the war that she hit a mine while traveling submerged off the coast of Japan and sank with all hands.
