Union County Courier, Elk Point, SD, 7 Dec 1911, page 1: "Obituary--Mrs. H. Sandberg. Died Tuesday at Her Home, Eleven miles Northwest of Elk Point Mrs. Hannah Sandberg died at her home eleven miles northwest of Elk Point, S.D., on Tuesday, Dec, 5th, 1911. of paralysis of the heart. The deceased was 72 years, 8 months and 7 days old, being born in Sweden March 30, 1839. In 1870 she went to Rock Springs, Wyoming, where she was united in marriage to Andrew Sandberg, where they resided until 1881 when they came to Elk Point and located on a farm, eleven miles northwest form here and have lived there up to the time of her death, Mr. Sandberg's death having occurred last May 1910. She leaves to mourn her loss three sons, Nels and Anton Sandberg of Minnesota and August Sandberg of Elk Point; and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Washburn of Sioux City. Brief services will be held at her home tomorrow at 2 o'clock and the regular funeral services will take place immediately afterwards at the Ahlsford church, Rev. B.M. Glim of Centerville, officiating. Interment will be made in the Ahlsborg cemetery." Contributor: j.lynn (47147578)
