On May 5th, 1979, he was joined in holy matrimony to Jean Marita Clifton, a marriage that lasted until her death in 2008. Charles was devoted family man. He loved gardening and raised beautiful flower gardens. He enjoyed dancing or listening to the big band sounds of the greats such as Dorsey and Miller. Charles had a love of all animals and could name any bird he saw in his back yard. He had a way with dogs and especially two special canine friends Nicky and Jo-Jo. A Missouri Synod Lutheran by faith, Charles devoted the close of the day to reading his Bible. His smile and kind heart will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him. He was called home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April, 21, 2009, in Tahlequah, OK, with his daughter by his side.
