Bio

H.E. White, 93, of Levelland, passed from this life at a Lubbock care facility on Friday evening, April 17, 2009. Born in Maud, Texas on November 9, 1915, he was the son of Milton and Susan (Fowler) White. After completing his education, Mr. White served in the US Army during WWII. On September 17, 1932, he married the love of his life, Flossie Mae Caswell, in Walter, Okla. They moved to Levelland in 1945, where he farmed until his retirement. In 1978, they moved to Sundown, where they resided until 2006. During his retirement, he and Flossie enjoyed many years of traveling in their RV. He was a member of the 5th Street Baptist Church in Levelland, where he served as a deacon for many years. Mr. White was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Flossie on August 7, 2006; and a daughter, Nelda McKee on May 3, 2001. Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his son, Larry White and wife Patty of Orlando, Fla.; son-in-law, W.C. McKee of Sundown; four grandchildren, Mike McKee of Sundown, Jerry McKee of Sundown, Russell White of Crosby, and Toni McCumber of Orlando, Fla.; five great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and his church family. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the 5th Street Baptist Church in Levelland. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the 5th Street Baptist Church in Levelland, officiated by Rev. Merle Fulmer.
