US MARINE CORPS MSgt WORLD WAR II, KOREA ===================================================== Obituary courtesy of Jerry Huffman 46859530 ===================================================== The Press-Enterprise - May 19, 2006 Deceased Name: Arnold Lloyd George ARNOLD, LLOYD GEORGE Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather Age 89, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 in Orange, California. Lloyd George Arnold entered this life on February 1, 1917 in North Platt, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm and completed an 8th grade education. He was the son of the late William and Mary Nee Arnold. He left this life on May 13, 2006 in Orange, California to join his beloved wife, Mildred, and his heavenly Father. Lloyd Arnold married Mildred Mae Baker on September 21, 1941 in San Diego. He was a 21 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served as a Master Sergeant. He served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a pistol sharp shooter and received various medals and commendations while enlisted in the U.S.M.C. After his retirement from the military, he worked at Ling Electronics in Anaheim, California. Lloyd Arnold was a longstanding member of Bristol Street Baptist Church in Santa Ana, CA. After retierment he and his wife moved to Temecula and were members of the First Baptist Church of Temecula. They again moved to Sun City, CA. and after his wife's passing, he moved to Irvine, CA. where he attended Seeker's Chapel in Fullerton, CA. He will be remembered as a man of character, integrity, a strong work ethic, honesty and a devoted husband and father. Lloyd Arnold is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Mildred; his sisters, Bess and Daisy; his brothers, Newton, Frank, Ned and Ted, and his grandson, Nicholas Arnold. He is survived by his eight children; sons, David Arnold and Steven Arnold of Washington state; his daughters, Jane Arnold of Lakeside, Ca., Kathleen Keyes of Murrieta, CA., Susan Arnold of El Cajon, CA., Sharon Whittlesey of Orange, CA., Judith Cody of Menifee, CA., Jennifer Arnold of Irvine, CA; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Seth Arnold of San Jose, CA.; one sister, Mable Redmond of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Memorial Service Wed., 05/24, 11am at Miller-Jones Sun City Chapel. Private internment at Riverside National Cemetery.
