Victoria Advocate, The (TX) - February 7, 2001 Deceased Name: JOHNNIE R. CHILEK WHARTON -- Johnnie Rudy Chilek, 77, of Wharton, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001. He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in DeWitt County, to the late August and Annie Micola Chilek. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Wharton Farm Bureau and Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society in Wharton. Survivors: sister, Mary Matcek of Wharton; brother, Adolph Chilek of Boling. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton, the Rev. Joe Vrana officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Wharton Funeral Home, Wharton, 979-532-3410. Pallbearers: Bernard Chilek, Shawn Chilek, Frank Chilek, Clem Chilek, Daniel Chilek, Julius Pavlas, Charlei Matcek and David Foehner.
