This is "Uncle Roy" who passed down his stories. If it was not for his stories, our Parks family might have well been lost to the future generations. 1900 Hunt County Texas Federal Census list him as 2 years of age. Willie Ann his mother was listed as to having 8 children with 6 living. I can account for seven Parks children. One of the seven died prior to 1900. Chances are very good I may never know where that child is buried. The 8th child is probably one of hers from her first marriage. He was listed in 1910 Hunt County Texas Federal Census age around 12 and still in the home of his parents. August 19 1919 he married Virginia Bumpass. Roy and Virginia had no children. Roy is the little boy in the picture wearing the sailor suit. Same little sailor suit Newt is wearing in the DeHaven family photo. The photo that none of the DeHaven descendants had ever seen. Roy told his great niece the stories about the DeHaven's. The one word that connected Will Parks to Lemuel B. Parks of Chariton County, Missouri. The great niece and I have two people to thank for their wonderful memory, their love of family, and our love of genealogy. Here is to you, "Uncle Roy"
