Heirs of Daniel Philip Harmon; William Henry Harmon's father Daniel Philip Harmon left $31.67 1/2 for him, on papers of Daniel Harmon, dated 16 Jan 1860 In Olney, Richland Co.IL ***************************** Henry came to now Richland County, Illinois in 1836. Bought Congress land three miles south of Olney, Richland County, Illinois. He lived on this land until 1853, when he returned to Greene County, Indiana. In 1855 he returned to Richland County, Illinois and lived on the Bonpas River, southeast of Olney, Richland County, Illinois. Henry was active in business in Olney. He developed the "Harmon Addition" in the southeastern part of the city. Harmon Avenue is a few blocks south of the railroad, runs east and west, off Whittle Avenue. Maple Dale Cemetery was part of the Harmon Addition. Henry's father and mother, Daniel and Mary Elliott are buried there. For the 1850 census on 8 October 1850 he was living with his wife and eight children in Cass Township, Greene County, Indiana. For the 1860 census on 23 July 1860 he was living with his wife and ten children in Claremont Township, Richland County, Illinois. For the 1870 census on 24 June 1870 he was living with his wife and seven children in Claremont Township, Richland County, Illinois.
