Bandera Texas Newspaper Bernice M. Light 2009 Bernice M. Light, 93, passed away Monday, March 16, at a local care facility. She was born in Medina, to Erma and Marion Moffett. Mrs. Light was a devoted mother to her late son, Nelson, and was the greatest supporter of his artwork. For most of their married life, she and her late husband, Burnice, were ranchers; however, Mrs. Light was also employed at Collins of Texas where she came to know and appreciate her many fellow workers. She is survived by sisters Lola Barton of Medina; Janis Sells of Bandera; and Ida Berthold and her husband, Alex, of Kerrville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Light was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Creek Nursing Center for their excellent care of Mrs. Light during the nearly four years of her residency there. Their kindness and compassion were always evident. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, March 20, at the Baptist Church in Medina with Brother Bill Moseley officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers are Stephen, Colton and Carter Sells; Ronald and Billy Barton; and John Bruce.
