KERRVILLE — Vada Mae McMahon, 101, of Ingram, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009. Mrs. McMahon was born Jan. 30, 1907, in Medina, Texas, to Marion and Erma Davis Moffett. After graduating high school, she became a homemaker and wife to William D. McMahon on May 23, 1924, in Bandera, Texas. She was not only a great mother to her children, but she also was "mother" to many people in the community where she was well known, loved and cherished. She was an active member of the Living Tree Baptist Church, a church that she loved dearly. She was known for having church groups of a dozen or more at her home, even just a few months ago, cooking them meals that will be remembered for many years. She is survived by her sons, Joe Lee McMahon and wife, Von, of Stephenville, Texas, and William D. McMahon Jr. and wife, Myrna, of Itasca, Texas; daughters, Zella Mae Holms of Sheffield, Texas, Bernice Marie Dean of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Patty Birkes and husband, Bill, of Ingram, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Jerry Willman of Kerrville, Texas; sisters, Bernice Light of Bandera, Texas, Lola Barton of Bandera, Texas, Janice Sells of Bandera, Texas, and Ida Beathold of Kerrville, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of many loving friends and neighbors and her beloved church family A visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home. Funeral Services are to be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in the Sanctuary of Living Tree Baptist Church, 3120 Junction Highway, Ingram, TX 78025, officiated by the Rev. Thomas Jeffers and the Rev. Jimmy Allen. Interment will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery, Medina, Texas.
