WWI Veteran; Husband of Maybell (Grace) Turner; Son of William Jefferson Turner and Nicie Jane (Stewart) Turner PFC US ARMY WWI James Walter Turner Mar 10, 1899 - Apr 19, 1983 James Walter Turner, 94, of Rice, died Tuesday at Navarro Memorial Hospital. Service is Thursday, 2 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. B. W. Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Pattison Cemetery. He was a native of Mississippi and served in the Calvary during World War I. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Aline Griffith, of Corsicana; one sister, Mrs. Lida Tinkle of Arlington; two sons-in-law, Mark Morgan of Rice and J. C. Griffith of Corsicana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Wayne Morgan, Jerry Morgan, Lee Montgomery, Dub Turner, Edgar Montgomery and Larry Bailey.
