Bio

Krippner, Lillian Ann Zaloudek Lillian died peacefully at her home on March 8, 2009. She would have been 95 on April 12, 2009 (Easter Sunday). She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill, her brother Vincent Zaloudek, and her dear brother-in-law William Valek. She is survived by her sister Helene Valek. She is also survived by her four children and their families: Judith and Coye Grimmett, Michaele and Ted Veenhuis, William and Nyla Krippner, and David Krippner and Karen Pecquet. Lillian had 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grand-children. All were blessed with a dear sister, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, and a doting great-grandmother. Lillian was born in Chicago on April 12, 1914, to Vincent and Anna Zaloudek. She grew up in Saint Agnes of Bohemia Parish, where she met--in the first grade-the man she would marry! She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Omaha in 1931 and returned to her family. She worked and was active in the Czech gymnast society, the Sokols, in the years before she married her oneand-only love in 1937. Lill and Bill had three of their children in Chicago and then moved to Texas in 1947 with her father and brother to be near her sister. After three and a half years in Ennis and one more child, they moved to Dallas. Shortly afterwards, she went to work at Fireman's Fund Ins. Co. until she retired in 1979. During all those years she also raised, disciplined, laughed and cried with her children, and was active in her St. James Parish and then St. Rita's Catholic Community in 1964. She volunteered in many areas, and she and Bill were the "grand" members of the Golden Agers. Lillian was a woman full of energy, full of love for God, her faith, her family and her friends. From her own parents she inherited a deep devotion for God, a strong work ethic, a keen sense of right and wrong, and a constant love for family. They will all miss her so very much, as will her friends whose lives she touched. They will especially miss her indomitable sense of humor, which brightened so many days. She often told everyone that, when she could no longer joke or laugh, she "must be dead"! An informal viewing will be held in her home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral mass will be on Friday morning, March 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita's with interment following at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
