Enid A. Pavlacka, 83, Topeka, died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at a Topeka hospital. Mrs. Pavlacka was a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital and she later worked at Topeka Medical Center before retiring in 1981. She was born May 1, 1919, in Roxbury, the daughter of Albert and Julia Quick Zeitlow. She attended Asbury School of Nursing in Salina. Mrs. Pavlacka was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She married Raymond Pavlacka on Jan. 3, 1942, in Salina. He died March 13, 1995. Mrs. Pavlacka also was preceded in death by a son, Jim Pavlacka Sr., Aug. 6, 1999. Survivors include a son, Jan Pavlacka, Topeka; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Pavlacka will lie in state after 2 p.m. Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Building Project or to Midland Hospice Care Inc. and sent in care of the funeral home.
