McMURTRY, Reuben F. - Reuben F. McMurtry died at his home near Hiwasse April 6, 1929 after an extended illness. He was 63 years of age and had lived near that place since 1920. He was born in Galesburg, Ill. in 1866 and later lived in Iowa and Nebraska. In 1889 he married Miss Margaret Coulter in Custer county, Nebraska. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom are now living. These are: Leo of Bayard, Nebr.; Andrew of Afton, Okla.; Pat of Kennesaw, Nebr.; Henry of Mullen, Nebr.; Lonnie of Anselmo, Nebr.; Mrs. Nellie Davidson and Miss Lucy McMurtry of Hiwasse. Mr. McMurtry spent most of his days as a farmer in Nebraska. He was a prominent Odd Fellow and helped organize the lodge in Seneca, Nebr. in 1909. He also helped reorganize the one in Hiwasse.
