Bio

Walta Fry was the daughter of Nannie Irene Byrum and Walter George Fry. Her father died of Typhoid Fever when she was only 6 months old. Her mother married second William Burder Haile who had six young children by his first wife. His first wife, Minnie, was a good friend of second wife Irene. The new combined families of 8 children settled in on the Haile ranch in Hutchinson Co, TX. They were later joined by a new brother, Byrum Hodges Haile, making the family of yours, mine, and ours nine children. Walta married Paul Russ on August 12, 1925 in Donley Co, TX. They eventually settled in Amarillo, Potter Co, TX where they lived the remainder of their lives.
