From the Frankston Citizen dated October 18, 1984 MRS. JULIA GURNEY Services for Mrs. Julia Gurney, 96, Tyler were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Father David Lyke officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Gurney died Friday, Oct. 12, in a Tyler nursing home after a lenthy illness. She was born May 21, 1888, in New Orleans, La., and lived in Tyler since 1957. She was a houewife and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, M.D. Gurney and Oren Gurney, both of Tyler, and Frank Gurney of Frankston; three daughters-in-law, Mabel Gurney and Anita Gurney both of Tyler, and Viola Gurney of Frankston; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Gurney, Bob Gurney, Harry Lee Gurney, Joe Gurney, Robert Hamilton, Joel Withem and Buddy Miller.
