Bio

Services for Oren E. Gurney, 89, Tyler, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Aaron Bequette officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park. Mr. Gurney died April 19, 2008, in Tyler. He was born July 19, 1918, in Cleveland, Okla., to the late Frank and Julia Martinez Gurney. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II, retired from Southland Distribution Center and was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Joan Graves Gurney. Survivors include his wife, Clodell Gurney, Tyler; daughters, Ann Miller, Tyler, and Debbie Reeves, Chandler; sons, Bill Gurney and Bob Gurney, both of Tyler, and Danny Balensiefen. Chandler; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
