Bio
Billy Joe Noftsger 50, of Lathrop, MO and former Elk City resident, passed away Saturday February 14, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Noftsger was born February 16, 1957 in Saint Joseph, MO to Billie and Mary (Brigman) Noftsger who preceded him in death. Billy was a crane operator and a member of the Local Union 101. Survivors include his wife Carla Noftsger of the home: a step daughter Casie Yeubanks and a step brother Lucas Vaughn; Six grandchildren. Three sisters, Bobbie Noftsger of Roanoke, Alabama and Vicki Oliver of Independence, Kansas and Sandra DeVore of Elk City, Kansas; and six nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Owen Eugene Noftsger July 1, 1990. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Elk City Nazarene Church with the Reverend Terry Marta, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Bailey & Cox Family Funeral Service in Lathrop, Missouri.
