From the Frankston Citizen November 13, 1986. Funeral services for Shara May Godwin, 88, of LaRue were held at 2 p.m. Satyrday, November 8, in the New York Baptist Church with the Revs. C. O. Jackson Jr. and Ben Tulley officiating. Burial was in the Hew York Cemetery under the direction of the Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens. Mrs. Godwin died Thursday, November 6, in an Athens area nursing home after a sudden illness. She was born Dec. 13, 1897 in Barry. She had been a resident of the New York Community since 1912. She was a housewife and a member of the New York Baptist Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dewey and Dorothy Godwin of Duncanville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Aliene and Jack Reynolds of New York and Maree Leach of San Antonio; a brother, C.E. Christopher of Stanton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lanny Reynolds, Dewey Reynolds, Dru Godwin, Robert J. Leach Jr., Jerry Douglas, Steve Casillas, Douglas Springer, and John Reynolds.
