Daughter of John & Loretta Rourke. Married to Robert Brownell Obituary: Cecelia Loretta Brownell BURWELL, Cecelia Loretta Brownell, 91 of Burwell died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Mrs. Brownell was born on Feb. 20, 1917, to John and Loretta Rourke north of Merna in the New Helena area of Custer County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and a son, Bill. Survivors of the immediate family include her children and their spouses, Nancy Curtis of Chandler, Ariz., Dennis and Kathy Brownell of Grand Island, Larry and Judy Brownell of Albany, Ore., and Peggy Schmitz of San Diego, Calif.; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Bernice Welch, Kathleen Roberts, Janice and Bill Lehman and Veronica Neiswanger, all of Denver, and Mary Alyce Tierney of Broken Bow; and a sister-in-law, Lenora Rourke of Lincoln.
