Wife of Jacob Coleman Merideth Daughter of Joseph J. Shelton and Amanda Mahalia (Anding) Rhoda Freelove (Shelton) Merideth Sep 12, 1875 - Jul 10, 1954 "Mrs. Merideth Services Sunday" Funeral services for Mrs. J. C. Meredith, 78, formerly of Navarro county who died at Route 1, Hillsboro, were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Corley Chapel here. The rites were conducted by Rev. George Greenbon. Burial was in the Patterson cemetery near Emhouse. Mrs. Meredith was a native of Henderson county. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kyle Stokes, Mrs. W. L. Rackley and Mrs. Virgil Grooms, all of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Susan Richards, Dallas, and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were M. B. Padgett, Marion Magee, Troy Holcomb, W. C. Ray, Joe Logan, Charles DeLafosse, Book Turner and Leonard Gardner. Corsicana Daily Sun, July 12, 1954."
