Bio

Mr. Dunahoo died late Wednesday, Aug. 3, 1994 at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Ridgeway, the son of John Riley and Iona Clemmons Dunahoo. He mar- ried Rosa Nell Philips on March 1, 1943, in Cumby. She survives.He began his teaching career in 1947, in the Corpus Christi ' Public School System and became Associate Vocational Director of the Del Mar Technical Institution in 1965. He returned to ETSU in 1970, and taught there until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Dunahoo was an active member of Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church, president of the Ridgeway Cemetery Society, active member of Retired Teachers Associ- ation and the American Association of Retired Persons and a member of Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge #221 AF&AM. Mr. Dunahoo was a Navy veteran of WWII, during which he served as a pilot. Other survivors include two sons, Riley Dunahoo of Cumby and Bob Dunahoo of Plano; one daughter, Susan Walton of Augusta, Ga.; three grandchildren, Terri Dunahoo, Shelly Bunjevac and Joshua Walton; one Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
