Funeral services for Rosa Nell Dunahoo, 81, of the Ridgeway community were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at West Oaks Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Suche officiating. Burial followed at Ridgeway Cemetery with Weldon Ray Morgan, Ray Flemens, Mike Briley, Keith Edwards, Joseph Flemens and Jessie Ibarra serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Dunahoo died Saturday, August 5, at her residence. She was born Dec. 29, 1924, in the White Rock community the daughter of Joshua and Maggie Lee Philips. She married John Murl Dunahoo on March 1, 1942, in Cumby. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1994. Mrs. Dunahoo was a homemaker and a blue ribbon quilter. She served as a board member of the Ridgeway Cemetery Society and was a member of Gafford Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Riley Dunahoo and Bob Dunahoo and wife Julia; one daughter, Susan Walton and husband Dan, all of the Ridgeway community; two sisters, Patsy Morgan of Mesquite, and Mae Dell Temple of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Terri Dunahoo, Shelly Couture, Joshua Walton, Serenah Howard, Willow Gagnon and Sarah Burk-Havrilak; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Edith Clemmons; and four brothers, Harvey, Billy, T.D. and Jack Philips.
