Bio
Betty Jean Hausenfluke Chapin of San Angelo, Texas, age 81, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Legend Oaks Nursing Home in San Angelo, Texas. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 12, 2009 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Georgetown, Texas on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Larry Hausenfluke officiating. Betty was born to Job F. and Maggie Hausenfluck, on June 28, 1928 at home on her parents ranch in Williamson County, Texas. She started her college years at Cal State at East L.A. and finished her bachelor's degree at Texas Tech. She was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. She met and later married the love of her life Wayne R. Chapin on March 27, 1948 at her sister's home in Austin, Texas. She was an active member of Southland Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Wayne R. Chapin, eleven brothers and sisters; Beatrice Walker, Roy Hausenfluck, Myrtle Burson, Frank Hausenfluck, Jessie Gibbs, Margaret Bunce, I.M. Hausenfluke, J.F. Hausenfluck, Maye Bell Alexander, Lois Guttman, Laura Teel, two nephews and one niece. She is survived by her daughter: Janice Burkhalter and her husband Joe of San Angelo, her grandson, Timothy Burkhalter and his wife Emily of Temple, Texas, twelve nephews and eleven niece's. In lieu of flowers or plants the family request that contributions be made to the Habitat for Humanity or your favorite charity. A special thanks to the Vista Care Hospice Service for all the love and care given to mother during her stay there. She was very loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
