Bio

Mrs. Jewel Clampett, 29, of Houston, died Thursday in a Houston hospital. Interment was in the Malakoff cemetery. Mrs. Clampett was born on September 25, 1913. She was a resident of Malakoff and the Oakland community for several years before moving to Houston. Surviving are her husband, Dewie Clampett; a daughter, Alma lee; a step-son, Robert Marshall Clampett, who is in the U.S. Navy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dollar, Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Blakeney of Fort Worth and Mrs. Opal Patrick of Houston; nine brothers, Leslie, William and Alvin of Houston, Tom of Mineola, Earl of Austin, Ray of Marshall, Ira of Malakoff and Charlie and Horace dollar of the U.S. Army, New York. Two children and one sister preceded her in death. (Athens Review October 8, 1942)
