He was born 16 December 1835, son of the late Starling Neal b. 1809 in Wayne Co, KY d. 04 Nov 1867 in Overton Co, TN. and Keziah Hannah Raines b. 1809 in Wayne Co, KY and died Dec. 1889 in Overton Co, TN. William Richard Neal was married to Rebecca Susannah Neal (maiden name unknown). Children of William Richard Neal and Susannah Rebecca (MNU) are: 1. John F. Neal b. 24 Jan 1869 d. 28 Mar 1893 bu. Sand Springs 2. Letha Neal born 1872. 3. James W. Neal b. 09 Sep 1875 d. 11 Feb 1948 bu. Sand Springs He married 1st to Lou V. Ford, daughter of Rev. Willie J. Ford and Feruby Ford, nee Phillips. Lou was born 28 April 1879 and died 16 June 1913. He 2nd married Lola S. Burnett on 30 Nov 1916 Vol. 5, Page 352, Certificate 1399, Putnam Co, TN Marriage Records, daughter of the late James M. Burnett and Luvisa Jane Burnett, nee Jackson. Lola was born 07 May 1895 died 09 Jun 1969. James and his 2 wives are buried in Sand Springs Cemetery. 4. Hettie Neal born 1877. She married A.M. Whittaker on 18 Jan 1903 Vol. , Page 161, Certificate 4, Putnam Co, TN Marriage Records. Rebecca Hannah Neal (maiden name unknown) lies at rest next to her husband, William Richard Neal in Sand Springs Cemetery, just west of Monterey, Putnam County, Tennessee.
