Benjamin Franklin Forbis was born to Francis Marion and Sarah Martha Silvers Forbis. He was married to Nora McBride. According to his death certificate, he was a tile and fire door salesman and passed away at the age of 71 years, 10 months, and 17 days old. Mrs. B.F. Forbis of Columbia, MO, is listed as the informant of his death. Death Certificate State File #: 19410 -------------------------- B.F. Forbis Died In Columbia Monday; Benjamin Franklin Forbis, building specialties contractor at Columbia for a number of years and a former resident of Centralia, died at Boone County Hospital in Columbia at 10:00 o'clock Monday morning, July 2, 1951. He had been ill since Friday and was taken to the hospital late Saturday afternoon following a stroke of paralysis. A native Boone Countian, he was born August 15, 1879 to Marion and Sarah Martha (Silver) Forbis, who lived on a farm south of Centralia. On August 15, 1906, Mr. Forbis was married in Centralia to Miss Nora McBride, who survives. He is also survived by three brothers, Clarence Forbis of Columbia, Estill Forbis of Fulton and John Forbis of Mobeerly, a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers and four sisters preceeded him in death. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Reverend C.E. Lemmon at the First Christian Church in Columbia where Mr. Forbis had been a member for many years. Following the funeral service in Columbia, the body was brought to Centralia for burial in the Centralia Cemetary. Services under the direction of Parker Funeral Home.
