Sarah Martha Silvers was born to George W. Silvers. She married Francis Marion Forbis on September 26, 1866 in Boone County, Missouri. Together their children were: Lavinia Forbis (Abt. 1868 -?) Luther E. Forbis (Abt.1871 -?) Lizzie Forbis (Abt. 1873 -?) James William Forbis (1874-1948) Minnie A. Forbis (1877-1924) Ben Franklin Forbis (1879-1951) John Henry Forbis (1882-1972) Clarence E. Forbis (1884-1964) Estel Forbis (1887-1970) ? Forbis (?-?) Sarah passed away at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 1 day old due to nephritis and mitral insufficiency. The informant of her death is listed as J.W. Forbis, Centralia, MO. Burial Date: May 5, 1925 Death Certificate State File #: 14295 _________________________________________ Centralia Courier: PIONEER RESIDENT OF COUNTY IS DEAD; Miss Sarah Martha Forbis, 77 years old, the wife of Francis Marion Forbis, died at her home five miles south of Centralia last Sunday evening. Mrs. Forbis was one of the pioneer residents of Boone County. Mrs. Forbes was prior to her marriage, Sarah Martha Silvers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Silvers. She was married to Francis Marion Forbis on September 26, 1866, ten children were being born to this union. Of the ten children, six, with the husband, survive. They are Luther E. Forbis of Quanah, Texas, J.W. Forbes of Centralia, Dr. B. F. Forbis and Clarence E. Forbis of Columbia, John H. Forbis of Moberly and Emil Forbis. Three brothers also survive, they being W.E. Silvers and M.A. Silvers of Centralia and J.W. Silvers of Sturgeon. Of Mrs. Forbis's eleven grandchildren, nine are still living. Mrs. Forbis joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church when she was 18 years old. Later she united with the Centralia Baptist Church. She had been a loyal worker in her home, her community and her church and a host of friends will mourn her. Funeral services were held at the Centralia Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Reverend R.R. Watts officiating. Burial was in Centralia Cemetary.
