Bio
Lillian Marion Dolan, 77, formerly of Austin, died on Jan. 14, 2009 at St. Therese Home in New Hope. Lillian was born Aug. 26, 1931 in Austin to John and Theresa (Svejkovsky) Chapek. On Dec. 1, 1950 she was united in marriage to Robert Thomas Dolan. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1981. Lillian worked 25 years as a secretary and administrator at the Austin Hormel Foods Plant and Corporate Offices. She loved gardening, cooking, and outdoor activities such as fishing, biking and camping. Lillian also enjoyed having large family dinners at her home on Sunday afternoons. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Lillian was very proud of her only grandchild, Katie and enjoyed spending time with her. Survivors include two sons, Robert T. (Maureen) Dolan, Plymouth, Minn., Daniel P. Dolan, Amsterdam, Holland; granddaughter, Katie Dolan, Decorah, Iowa; sister, Alice Hofner, Austin; brother, Donald (Arlene) Chapek, Austin. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Chapek; brother, Elmer Chapek; sister, Violet Chapek. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 at Trondhjem Lutheran Church with the Reverend Bob Berthold officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Mayer Funeral Home and also one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
