Joe was the son of Albert & Delina Shockey Cothern. He married Hazel Lee. Surviving are his wife and 4 sisters; Mrs. Alice Nance of Herrick, Mrs. Florence Hinton, Oconee, Mrs. Faye Beck of Decatur, Mrs. Freda Burrus of Martina. He was preceded in death by 2 sister; Mrs Margaret Wilson and Verda Murphy. 4 brothers; Will, Sam, John, Lew. Pallbears were; James Cothern, Paul Beck, Charles Askins, Ivy Wilson, Robert Smith, & Harold Lee.
