Bio

Miss Annie Viola Coleman was the first teacher in the Enterprise School, which opened in 1895. This was one of the first schools to open in Collingsworth County, Texas. At this time all lessons were learned at home and recited at school. Pupils were scattered over a wide area and school started when they all got there and lasted until all lessons were heard. It was a one room school and was full when all students arrived.
