Wife of Farnk Alonzo Schermerhorn Jr. The Manhattan Mercury Manhattan, Kansas Sunday, January 7, 1962 Page 4 Mrs. G. Schermerhorn Mrs. Gertrude (Hudspeth) Schermerhorn, 78, I.O.O.F. Rebekah Home, died yesterday morning at the Riley County Hospital. She was born August 27, 1883, in Riley County, near Ogden. Mrs. Schermerhorn was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Ogden Rebekah Lodge. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Frank Schermerhorn, former Sheriff of Riley County, who died August 19, 1954; and a son, Ed Schermerhorn, who died two years ago. Mrs. Schermerhorn is survived by one son, Joseph Schermerhorn, Overland Park; two [4?] grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Hudspeth, Lansing; Ralph Hudspeth, Topeka; and Frank Hudspeth, California; and two sisters, Mrs. Annie Ottie, the state of Washington, and another sister, Edna of Hutchinson. Funeral services will be in the Courser Chapel at 2 p.m., Monday, with Dr. S. Walton Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Ogden Cemetery.
