Services for George Y. Jones, 74, were held today in Oakley-Metcalf Funeral Home with Rev. J. D. Fontenot officiating and burial in Knight Cemetery. Mr. Jones of Zavalla, died Saturday in a local hospital. Born in Nacogdoches Co. he had been a resident of Angelina Co. for the past 10 years and was formerly of Houston. He was a clerk and checker for International Longshoremen, and was a member of the Steamship Clerks and Checkers Union for 15 years, Local #1351. He served with U.S. Army during WWII.
