Married to Buford Doyle Cherry on August 13, 1941 in Hopkins Co., TX. They had one daughter, Leta Faye and two grandchildren,Cherri and Charles. (Published in Amarillo Globe-News, July 14, 2003) Jessie Belle Cherry BORGER - Jessie Belle Cherry, 92, died Saturday, July 12, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Cherry married Buford Cherry on Aug. 13, 1932, in Sulphur Springs. She graduated from Tira High School. She was a charter member of Bunavista Baptist Church and was a non-active member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Leta Bayless and husband, Sid, of Amarillo; a grandson, Bart Bayless and wife, Kim, of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Michel Olds and husband, Scott, of Amarillo; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
