LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Gena Farrill Jordan, 69, of Livingston, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 1994, from the Pace Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Bro. J. E. Murphy officiating. Burial followed in Jordan Cemetery near Batson. Mrs. Jordan died May 9 in Baytown. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Jasper, the daughter of Henry Edward and Beulah Conners Farrill. She was reared in Doucette and was married Jan. 9, 1943, to Max Robert Metzler, Sr. To this union, five children were born, all of whom survive. She was married on July 22, 1968, to A. D. Bruce Jordan. The couple made their home in Big Sandy community in Polk County. She was an active member of the Big Sandy Baptist Church in Dallardsville and enjoyed camping and fishing as well as baking, gardening, sewing, and craft making. Survivors include her husband, A. D. "Bruce" Jordan of Livingston; two sons, Max Robert Metzler, Jr, of Houston and Richard Ray Metzler of Dallardsville; three daughters, Jeanine Maxine Jones and Linda Elaine Gouner, both of Baytown, and Gena Lydane Rolls of Colmesneil; three brothers, Edward Pearl and Mickey Farrill, both of Houston, and J. D. Farrill of Votaw; a half sister, Ruby Estell Phillips of Jacinto City; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Pallbearers were Karl Jones, Paul Jones, Larry Jones, Clint Byrd, and Stanley Byrd. Pace Funeral Home of Livingston directed the arrangements. Tyler County Booster 5/18/1994
