Bio

Thanks to contributor #47343179; John Jacob Mohr, 62, deputy state sheriff from Central City, died at his home, 2025 F street, Lincoln, Nebr., at 7:20 o'clock Thursday evening, August 13th, after an illness of about 7 weeks. For 12 years he was Merrick county sheriff and was appointed to the state office in January, 1936. Deputy Sheriff Mohr was a member of the Central City Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite and Shrine at Hastings. Surviving are his wife, Browine; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Ullstrom and Marjorie Mohr, both of Central City; two sons, Charles of Portland, Ore., and Gerald W. of Central City, and one brother. The body was brought to Central City Friday morning, and funeral services were held there Sunday. Interment at Central City. The Palmer Journal, August 20, 1936, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney
