Bio

Services for Virginia Berry Payne, 92, of Ballinger will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rains-Seale Funeral Home in Ballinger. Burial will be at Crews Cemetery in Crews. She died Sunday, March 10, 2002. She was born May 24, 1909, in Eagle Branch. She married Jim Berry on March 30, 1930. He died March 30, 1962. She married Elmer Payne in June 1965. He died Oct. 30, 1985. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She also was preceded in death by a grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Lankford of Ballinger; a son, David Berry of Abilene; a brother, Ben Odom of Morgan; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
